An emerging civil society - global in scope - has begun to harness the power of community, diversity, and information technology
to address our most pressing social and ecological challenges. Industry leaders who do not recognize this trend, who go on with business as usual, will find their companies blowing in the wind of the new green economy. In the 21st century, good business is green business.

RAG Co-op (aka Residents Apparel Gallery) located in the Hayes Valley shopping district of San Francisco, showcases locally designed and manufactured fashion as unique and diverse as the city it calls home.
RAG's Curator Blakely Bass, a sewing enthusiast and environmentalist at heart, founded the store in 2002. This cooperative boutique is curated much like an art gallery – only the art is wearable. Local clothing and accessory designers rent space on a monthly basis. They then outfit a rack or shelf with their latest designs and biographical information about their line. By not catering to a particular niche, RAG is able to fully embrace the community's diverse style and creativity.
There is a constant influx of new men's women's and children's clothing, accessories and home designs. With merchandise crafted on a monthly basis by over 70 designers, the racks boast anything from seams out one-of-a-kind gems to more tailored ready-to-wear garments.

Sustainable, Responsible, Reliable.Since 1990 Toner Cartridge Service, a small family owned business, has been remanufacturing and recycling laser printer cartridges and inkjets in the San Francisco Bay Area. The concept was to offer products that could be recycled, would create jobs locally, and contribute to the Bay Area economy. Remanufacturing toner cartridges was exactly the type of product and service that we envisioned. The idea was as exciting then as it is today. TCS also offers laser printer maintenance and repair services to keep your office machines working properly thus extending the useful life of your office equipment.

I've had the privilege to serve as a local City
Councilmember and as an environmental regulator and I really wanted to
"practice what I preach" in my own business. The office products
industry must strive to better "close the loop"--preserving our
natural resources and reducing waste in our landfills. Waldeck's goal is to
mainstream green...make it a no-brainer.
